Is the Zoom! WhiteSpeed™ Treatment safe?

Yes, extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a Zoom trained and accredited dentist is very safe. The active ingredient in the Zoom teeth whitening treatment is Hydrogen Peroxide that changes to oxygen. This has been safely used in dentistry for over a hundred years. Numerous scientific articles have shown that using hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth is effective and safe. It has also been thoroughly studied, tested and found safe by university researchers. The Zoom teeth whitening treatment has no adverse effect on existing restorations (fillings or crowns etc), and does not rub away, soften, damage or weaken the enamel tooth structure. As with any tooth whitening product, Zoom! is not recommended for children under 18 years of age and pregnant or lactating women. Will the treatment be painful and does it have side effects?


Some people will experience temporary increased tooth sensitivity to cold during or after treatment. These symptoms disappear within 1-3 days after completion of the treatment. The temporary sensitivity can be minimal for some yet others will notice it similar to ice-cream sensitivity. We will give you plenty of advice and fluoride gel to help minimize this temporary sensitivity. No needles or drills are used.
